P. Tsou
General Manager, Hotung Capital Management Inc.
Berlin joined
Hotung Group in 2007. Prior to that he worked as a Vice President
for Chinatrust Bank (USA) in the Commercial and Industrial Group
providing high-tech banking services.
Berlin also worked for CDIB Ventures from 1999 to 2005 and brings
more than sixteen years of venture capital/growth capital/private
equity/technology banking experience in the high-tech arena.
His previous position was a country manager for Baring Communications
Equity Asia (BCEA), a private equity fund specialized in media
and communications investments in the Asia-Pacific region for
ING-Barings Asset Management Group.
During that time, he was in charge of overall investment activities
in Taiwan, including project evaluation, financial modeling,
research and due diligence. He has worked with businesses that
included the operation of mobile services, paging, CATV and
terrestrial TV.
Berlin began his career at China Development Industrial Bank
and held different positions in the Credit & Research, Domestic
Direct Investment and Overseas Business departments. These experiences
included credit analysis, high tech research, short-term business
cycle analysis for public companies and domestic and foreign
portfolio management. His successful investments include China
Television/Taiwan, Acer Computer Intl., Want-Want, Roly Intl./Singapore,
and NASDAQ listed firms Webex, Magma, Axesstel, Nexmed, Tanox
and so on.
Berlin earned his MBA degree from National Cheng-Chi University
in Taiwan in 1991 and received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering
and Book Coupon Award from National Taiwan University in 1989.
He is a devoted Christian, a certified FRM, an avid sports fan
and plays golf, volleyball and badminton regularly. |

William
Y. Tai
Manager, Hotung Capital Management Inc.
William Tai joined Hotung Capital Management, Inc. in September
2005 as a Manager. At Hotung, William is responsible for venture
investment and post investment management. His investments include
Atrica (acquired by Nokia-Siemens), Canesta, Chelsio, Cortina,
deCarta, Inovys (acquired by Verigy) and others. He also manages
a venture portfolio of more than 20 companies to assist on financings
and help on M&A and strategic issues.
Prior to joining Hotung,
William worked as a research analyst at Intecs International,
Inc. in Reston, Virginia and an analyst at President International
Development Co., an investment arm of Uni-President Group. in
Taipei, Taiwan where he gained a combining technical, marketing,
business, and investment experience across the Pacific.
William received his MBA from Baruch College, The City University
of New York and BA in Finance from National Cheng-Chi University
in Taiwan. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM®)
and an active volunteer
in technology association and community in Silicon Valley.
